MISSIONARY COMPOUND

 

Spirit Liberia desperately needs your assistance. We were given an incredible opportunity to rent a home that could be used for all of our missionary and office needs in Liberia. It is off of GSA Road near Rock Hill, a wonderful location not only for the public to access our offices, but also for our local employees, as they all live in walking distance besides one (who now oversees the missions compound along with the security guards).

The home is in very good condition as you can see by the pictures. It is a four bedroom/three bathroom house and has air conditioning, electric run throughout the home, and running water (both hot and cold). It is protected by a five foot fence, which we will need to add razor wire to the top of, but it is in excellent condition.

It also has a "boys quarter" which is what they call a guest house or secondary living quarters in Liberia. This is a seperate small house not attached to the main home to be used for security or other help to stay in. Along with the boys quarters there is also a gazebo which will be wonderful for hosting evening outdoor events such as bible studies, movie nights, and childrens evening programs.

This missionary home will be so invaluable to Spirit Liberia. Just last month, we spent over $4,000 for one-months stay in hotels while working there. It is imperative that we reduce these costs and also give ourselves a "headquarters" location for local pastors, employees, and the public in general. We will also use this home for our directors, Greg and Vanessa Bogdan, to stay in while in Liberia with their family as missionaries.

With all of the new agricultural projects we are working on, we are also in dire need of a location to store tools, equipment, and the like. This compound has plenty of space for this and would be in a prime location for drop-off and pick-up of tools for local churches. We will plan to put a large sign on the property as well as the main roads leading to the property to direct people to the compound.

Your prayers and financial support are so needed. We must send half-years rent no later than November 25, 2008. We will also need the remaining amount as soon as possible. The gentleman renting the compound has been so gracious in his price as well as his allowing us to only put down six-months rent.

The total amount needed for this compound is $14,500.00. Here is the breakdown:

     One Year Rental - $8,400
     Razor Wire on top of fence - $1,000
     Signage in front of property - $400
     Street signs at main junctions (x2) - $800
     Generator - $3,200
     Voltage Regulator - $700
