In 2006, Greg and Vanessa Bogdan felt the call to adopt several children from Liberia.

At the time, they knew very little about Liberia as a country or the people that lived there. Prior to the adoption, Vanessa traveled to see their "soon to be" children, and fell in love with the people of Liberia.

A few months later, Greg went to Liberia to bring the children home, and fell in love with it the same way. Only months later, Spirit Liberia was birthed from their deep, heart-felt love for the country of Liberia.

With a meager start, they dredged ahead trying to figure out how to work in a country overseas and especially how to work in a third world country. But God was gracious and put some amazing people on staff in Liberia that have truly taken Spirit Liberia to a new level in the past few months.

Spirit Liberia is now working on many ministry and agricultural projects and has huge plans for 2009. We look forward to updating this "History" page in a few years with all the new accomplishments.
